The Windsor Pub
 
Jenny Kuhn of the The Windsor Pub, London (near Fenchurch Street St) has addopted P.O.R.T. as her charity for a year. Jenny has entered into the brewery (Mitchels and Butlers)competion and so far we have reached the area finals. Jenny has raised £919 by organising various events, a People Auction, Christmas Quiz Night, Halloween Party    - well done Jenny.

Cocktail Evening and Auction
 
Jenny Kuhn landlady of The Windsor Pub is organizing a cocktail evening, and auction. Come along for your chance to bid on a football signed by the Chelsea Team, a pennant signed by the Arsenal Team and a photograph signed by the Liverpool Team, all while sipping cocktails.

Charity Auction At Weald Park Golf & Country Club

The auction at Weald Park Golf and Country Club on 11th October 2007 raised in excess of £5000, PORT would like to thank the donors who provided the superb Auction lots and to proprietors of the Weald Country Club who donated the venue  for the evening. Thankyou to all who those that came along to the evening.

The Isandlwana Lecture

The Isandlwana Dinner and Auction event at the Merchant Taylor’s Guild Hall Threadneedle Street, London was a great success. The credit for this successful evening goes to Dick and Suzie Casenove, a very big thank-you from the trustees of PORT to you both.

The evening has raised a staggering sum in excess of £80,000, a truly amazing result. PORT would like to thank all those who provided superb auction lots, and all who attended we hope everybody enjoyed the evening.

PORT would also like to thank the guest speaker Rob Caskie, for coming from South Africa to speak in such an entertaining way that captured the Historic events portrayed so vividly.

3rd Emily Frost Golf Day

A lovely day (and the weather was great) for the 3rd Emily Frost Golf Day. Thank you to everybody who played and came to the dinner dance in the evening. The event raised in excess of £2000

Golf Day

Ford Employees of Dagenham Engine Plant held their yearly golf day. The golf day is organised by Ford employee John Drake, this year the event raised £1000. Thanks to John for all his hard work.

Valentines Ball

The Valentines Ball was a great success, we raised over £3000 and will be adding this to our list of annual events.

Everybody looked fantastic and a great time was had by all.

Thanks to Dr Nigel Meadows who gave an great speech on Pseudo Obstruction.

Book Sale

Rita of "RITA'S" womensware clothing shop in Raleigh sells second hand books on behalf of the charity. So far Rita has raised over £200 for the charity - Well done Rita.

Raffle

"Finesse Hairdressers" of Chingford E4 - Have raised in excess of £150 from holding raffles on our behalf of PORT - Thankyou to all the staff and customers

London Marathon 2007

Sylvia Jarvis from Doddinghurst ran the 2007 London Marathon on behalf of PORT and raised £2418 for in sponsorship. Sylvia completed the Marathon in a very creditable time of 4 hours and 50 minutes, not bad for her first attempt!

Well done and thank-you from the trustees.

Shark Challenge

Dennis Rensch, a Brentwood Resident, undertook a charity swim - in a tank of sharks! This event took place at the "Blue Planet Aquarium" near Elsmere Port.

As an unqualified diver Dennis trained to mentally prepare himself for his close encounter with various sharks, including Sand Tiger sharks each 10ft long, weighing 26stone and having over 250 teeth. This shark is the fourth most dangerous of all sharks known for their unprovoked attacks on humans.

I am please do report that Dennis still has all his fingers and toes.

Well done Dennis.

Charity Race Night

A charity race night was held at the "Teriss Bar" Brentwood, Essex. The event raised over £700. Thanks to all who supported this event and especially those who sponsored a race or bought horses.

Great Wall Of China Charity Walk

Debbie Green of London raised over £800 in sponsorship money whilst walking the Great Wall Of China. Many thanks to Debbie for this great solo effort for the charity. Debbie raised all of the sponsorship herself, many thanks from all at PORT.

Toy Sale / Coffee Morning

The event was held at Sewardstone evangelical church hall, Chingford E4. The event rasied £360 and was organised by Grace Bryan aged 83yrs.(What an inspiration to us all.)

The Emily Frost Memorial Golf Day

The event was held at the Three Rivers Golf and Country Club, Cold Norton, Essex. The event was supported by 60 golfers and over 160 evening guests for the meal and disco. This event was a great sucess which raised over £2700 for the charity. Many thanks to those who supported the event. Special thanks go to the folowing companies who sponsored the event.

A charity boot sale was held by Beryl & Martin Songhurst at Stevensons Farm in Basildon , Essex. The bootsale rasied over £100. Thanks to Beryl & Martin for all their effort.

Jewellery Party

"What's Cool For Cats" presented their hand made jewellery at the "Teriss Bar" Brentwood, Essex. The event raised £160. Thankyou to Julie Clarke and those who supported this event.

Childrens Charity Disco

The disco held at Shotgate Village hall was supported by over 100 children between the ages of 3-7yrs. Jessica of "Phil's Paradise Promotions" provided the entertainment free of charge.The event raised over £250. Many thanks to all those who supported the event.

Grand Charity Auction

A fantastic evening was enjoyed by all. We raised in excess of £8000 thanks to the generosity of the local community & well wishers. We auctioned fantastic lots such as:-

"Winged Bee" - Helicopter sightseeing flight over London.

Robbie Williams in Paris concert tickets.

Weekend at the Franklin Hotel Knightsbridge.

Gold & Sliver memberships at Ashwells sports centre.

Box seats at the Royal Albert Hall.
